Optical satellite sensor and positioning accuracy analysis for the Hongqi-1-H9 wide-range satellite in different terrains

Abstract The excellent performance of geometric positioning a newly launched satellite will greatly broaden its application field. Launched on January 15, 2020, the Hongqi-1-H9 wide-range is largest sub-meter-level worldwide and first ton-level commercial remote sensing in China, with resolution less than 1 m swath width 136 km. This study was aimed at assessing accuracy this considering three aspects, namely, circle error accuracy, rational polynomial coefficient-based direct ground control point-based absolute under urban, plain, mountainous areas, different topographies. results conducted experimental investigation indicated that could exhibit high planar vertical directions for terrains. In particular, our areas low topography few surface structures, imagery 4m 2 planimetry elevation directions, respectively. These characteristics can promote images agricultural surveys, target detection, land among other domains.
